Great Quality!

After looking for a shag rug at numerous stores, I turned to Amazon.com, my FAVORITE online shopping website, and found this perfect rug! I was worried it was going to feel cheap and rough since it was a bargain, but my husband and I were so impressed with the quality! It is thick and plush... we have it in the middle of our girls' playroom and the four of us love to lay on the rug and play. I normally don't leave reviews, but this was a surprisingly wonderful product! :)

Pleasantly surprised

For what I paid for this rug, I was expecting it to shed and last me only a few months. It's actually lovely and the color is exact to what the photo shows. Very soft, nice and thick pile and zero shedding. The varied thickness of the soft pile adds dimension to it. I'm ordering another one of these!

Just what I was looking for!

I don't usually write reviews, but since there is hardly anything out there on this rug, I thought someone else might benefit from the info I was searching for. I was on the hunt for a new rug for our play room, and this rug is exactly what I was looking for! With twin toddlers and 7 year old big sis, I spend LOTS of time on the floor playing. I was looking for something soft and comfortable, yet durable too. This rug fits the bill in every way!1) It's the perfect off-white color (matches great with both a bright white kids table and with our more ivory colored desk and bookshelves from Ikea).2) The pile is a great length, about an inch long. It's not made of yarn like lots of other shag rugs that look more like long carpet. It's more like a nylon cording (exactly what I was hoping for). And let me tell you, it is ridiculously soft! And I love how there are two different thicknesses to provide added texture.3) The backing is very well made. The underside of the rug is a nice grey color, but the top of the backing (the part you see if you separate the pile) is the same off-white as the cording. It has nice finished edges, the same grey color as the back. I can see how some people might not like that the edges are grey, but it doesn't bother me one bit. The shag is long enough that you rarely even catch a glimpse of it.4) Amazon's price can't be beat. Once I decided on this rug (despite the lack of other reviews), I searched around and found at least half a dozen other sites offering the same rug and size for at least $250 more, some as high as $400 more.5) The only complaint I have is the packaging it came in. It was shipped in just a very thin sheet of plastic which must have torn during shipping from the weight of the rug as it was transferred from truck to truck. It arrived on my doorstep torn and half open, and I'm just glad I pulled it in before the rain came a few hours later! I bought another rug for a different room a week before, and it was triple wrapped with very thick plastic. What a difference. That being said, I don't think it had an impact on the rug. If anything, it just speaks for the quality of the backing since things seem to be fine.I took a chance on this rug since there weren't many reviews for me to judge from, and I am so pleased with my purchase. And while I'm using it in our playroom, it's a very high-end looking rug. I would happily use it in our living room too. The twins flock to it every morning, and my older daughter likes to just lay there and do snow angles! It's so soft under your feet, and it's a dream to lay on! I highly recommend.

Overall good rug with a few negatives

I bought this rug for my living room and I do really like it, but there's some things that are kind of annoying about it. I have hardwood floors in my house and when i put the rug down it would slide everywhere,this was the first problem. Also, the rug will start to shed. It doesn't shed too much, but it will shed. Too fix the first problem which was the rug sliding all over my hardwood floor I purchased Durable, Reversible 5' X 8' Premium Movenot Rug Pad(TM) for Hard Surfaces and Carpet too stop the sliding and it gave the rug more cushion on my hard floor. By doing this it solves the first problem. As for the shedding your on you own. I just learned to deal with because I really do like the look and style of this rug. It's a good rug, but has its problems that's why I had to knock two stars off.

The texture of the fibers is nice and soft!The base is a bit thin though, so if you're putting it on hard wood, you may want to supply additional underneath? Also it gets a little bit slippery on nice smooth wooden surfaces, so if not padding, then get some kind of grip material so you don't slip on it.

Purchasing this rug was a wonderful experience. It came shipped in time and tightly wrapped so it was easy to transport to my daughters dorm room. Upon unpacking, the rug exceeded our expectations. It's cozy under your toes and will do a super job hiding dirt and spill stains!

This is a nice soft and silky rug. Adds another dimension because of the material. Perfect for the look I wanted and so reasonable in price! Not sure how it will wear, or about cleaning, but it's great for now!

Soft, affordable, great rug! Wonderful purchase!

This rug is really soft. I was a little concerned with it being a "shag rug" that it would frill in the way traditional shag rugs are made, but this rug doesn't. It is extremely soft in between your toes and it feels like a cloud when you step on it. The pattern is beautiful too, it brightens my living room which is mostly comprised of dark colors. The rug flattened out pretty easily too, after only a day the curl came out and it's now flush with my living floor. I highly recommend this area rug if you're looking for a soft, simple rug with a great design that is easy on the wallet.
