Product Description
Authentic Bowron select lambs from the finest flocks from the vast sheep stations of Australia's outback, the high country runs and the lush green pastoral farms of New Zealand. Browron operates tanneries in New Zealand and Australia, which are conveniently placed in the midst of prime sheep farming areas, ensuring a plentiful source of high quality raw material. To this day, every Bowron Sheepskin is the perfect result of the same methods pioneered in the 1880's by the Bowron brothers from Yorkshire. Their unique 42 step tanning method has been constantly refined over the past 100 years. The raw skins are still expertly trimmed, machined and hand washed before the tanning commences. The tanned fleece is dried, combed by machine then by hand and finally polished to enhance the natural luster of the Sheeps wool. Only then is the Bowron symbol of excellence attached to the Sheepskin.

Best I could find. $90.00 less than Overstock.comI have two little dogs, but I love soft warm fluffy things. I have looked for the last 6 months for the right rug in my price range. This is the same rug, I believe, as is on Overstock.com, but it is less by $90.00 and has Amazon prime shipping.The rug is very white, very nicely made, soft, and appropriately fluffy. I have felt two sheepskin rugs that were softer and a little bit more refined, but they were $600.00 a piece, rather than $160.00. Given the price difference and the, apparently high quality of this rug, this is definitely the best option.My husband is concerned about washing...Some sites with good how too's. I haven't cleaned it yet, but I'm sure I will come spring or summer. Based on the tips etc, I'm not worried:[...][...][...]

I bought two of these to cover a leather sofa, yes a sofa, that our cat scratched the crap out of. He's not using it as a scratching post. Rather, he's jumping and playing all over the sofa and scratching it that way. Good luck on training a cat not to jump on a couch. Nice 10 year wedding anniversary present. The couch. Not the cat. The cat we found on a bike ride after he'd been hit by a car. Now he's ruined our $3000 beautiful leather sofa that I'd been waiting years to save up for and purchase. That's gratitude for ya. Nope. Not bitter at all. I chant every morning, "I can't take it with me and I LOVE animals." I think I've finally brainwashed myself into believing it now.Anywho, the quality of the sheepskin rugs are great. I wanted something that had the hide backing so when our cat jumps and digs his claws in, he won't be able to make it past the hide of the sheepskin. The wool is VERY soft and it's a creamy white color, which is what I wanted. The wool is about 2"-2 1/2" long. I do wish it was shorter for the couch but finding a short wool sheepskin rug for this price was so not gonna happen. I probably spent 4 hrs researching/looking for sheepskin rugs and this was the best price by far. Some might find a sheepskin rug morose, but I specifically wanted wool because it's a natural product (less allergy problems if you're prone to that kinda thing) and it's cool to sit on in the summer and warm to sit on in the winter. I love wool. My sheep leader had a sheepskin rug just like this when I was like 12 and I used to run my hands in it when we had meetings over at her house. Ah, memories. Oh another thing is, this rug would look awesome over a Danish Modern chair or even as a rug (shocker!) which is what I plan to do when our cat gets eaten by coyotes or I declaw it, whichever comes first. Seriously, I'm hoping he'll outgrow this tearing-up-my-leather-sofa-stage since he's only 6ish months old and turn into every other cat I know and sleep 98% of his life away and live for 20 years.Shipping was EXTREMELY fast. I'm in California and it came from California but I literally had an email 1/2 hr after I ordered it saying it was shipped. I ordered it Tuesday and it came Thursday. That is fast, my friend.

This was by far the best price I found for a sheepskin rug this size. The size is perfect for my apartment living room, I've gotten so many compliments on this rug- it looks so classy and feels incredibly soft. Just a note, this is "natural" white so do not expect it to be bright white.
